PCA 799 - Java Programmer


10 Continuing Education Units (CEU). This course is not for Credit(s).

This course is designed to enable the student to learn Java programming. Topics to be included are Java syntax elements, including both fundamental, universally useful elements, and more advanced elements, Java classes, Object-Oriented concepts such as inheritance, and Java programs that work with these classes.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the students should be able to:

1. create basic Java objects;
2. implement flow-control concepts in Java;
3. write code to create and use arrays;
4. design Java classes using inheritance;
5. utilize the concept of polymorphism in an application;
6. apply exception-handling to Java applications; and
7. research how to use elements from the Java API library, including the Collections classes.
