Office Manager/Administrative Assistant

Program Description


This program prepares students to obtain employment as an Administrative Assistant. Administrative Assistants work in a wide variety of industries and non-profit organizations.  They are responsible for creating electronic documents using Microsoft Office programs including Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Their duties also include: preparation of correspondence and reports; drafting memos, letters and e-mails; entering data into organization databases; using technology to correspond with customers inside and outside the company; and maintaining electronic and paper files.

Students will have access to a Continuing Education academic record (transcript). Students will receive a Continuing Education Workforce Training Certificate.

Program Length


The length of this program is 5 months. Courses begin monthly.

Program Requirements


High School Diploma or GED. Students are required to take reading assessments. Testing is waived for students with documentation of a college degree or a minimum C grade earned for college English. Students must be computer literate and have access to the Internet and to current version of Microsoft Office.

Skills for Success:​

Successful candidates must be self-motivated and independent learners as the course series is comprised of both online and classroom courses. They also need strong writing and analytical skills.  In the workplace, they will need strong analytical, communication and management skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and in teams.
