*Credit students who are new to college (no successfully completed transferable college credits from other institutions) are required to take ACDV 101 - Academic Development: Transitioning to College . This 1-credit course is designed to be taken in the first semester at CCBC. Students must provide an official transcript(s) from an accredited institution to document successful completion of college coursework for the ACDV 101 requirement to be waived.
The Electrical Engineering program is designed to maximize the number of credits that transfer into corresponding four-year electrical engineering programs and to ensure that transferring students have a strong foundation to succeed in the four-year programs. The A.S.E. is different than an A.S. in Engineering in that a graduate with the A.S.E. degree who is accepted into a parallel four-year program can transfer the degree as a block rather than on a course-by-course basis. To graduate with an A.S.E., students must earn at least a 2.0 in all courses in engineering, computer science, mathematics, and natural and physical sciences required for the degree (i.e., chemistry and physics). The degree will transfer to both public and participating independent engineering programs in the state of Maryland.
Upon successful completion of this degree, students will be able to:
- gain admission to a four-year computer engineering program with junior status;
- participate as an active member of an engineering design team;
- solve problems using data, analysis, interpretation and reasoning skills;
- write and present reports on results of tests and/or mathematical analyses;
- think critically;
- speak and write effectively;
- utilize appropriate test equipment; and
- apply relevant technologies.
