*Credit students who are new to college (no successfully completed transferable college credits from other institutions) are required to take ACDV 101 - Academic Development: Transitioning to College . This 1-credit course is designed to be taken in the first semester at CCBC. Students must provide an official transcript(s) from an accredited institution to document successful completion of college coursework for the ACDV 101 requirement to be waived.
The Computer-Aided Design for Architecture and Engineering degree program is designed to prepare the student for an entry-level position in the mechanical, architectural, civil, structural, or other design-related industry. Students graduating with this degree may find employment under the guidance of engineers as CAD operators, engineering technicians, CAD drafters, and design assistants creating technical drawings for engineering applications.
Upon successful completion of this degree, students will be able to:
- recognize and apply standard drafting principles in a CAD environment;
- develop working knowledge and skills to effectively and efficiently create drawings using several software programs;
- identify and explain the function and purpose of CAD system components;
- apply basic dimensioning procedures; and
- plot CAD drawings at designated scales.
