Program Requirements and Electives - 34 Credits


Total Credits Required for Certificate: 34*


*Credit students who are new to college (no successfully completed college coursework at other institutions) are required to take ACDV 101  in the first semester at CCBC. This is a 1-credit class, and it does not count towards the number of credits required for a degree or certificate. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) for this requirement to be waived.

 

Program Description


Students study software applications, PC and network hardware, and a broad range of Information Technology-related subjects, including operating systems installation, configuration, diagnoses, and repair.

Program Outcomes


Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:

  1. diagnose and repair problems with servers, operating systems, and infrastructure in an enterprise system;
  2. administer networks and network operating systems;
  3. secure the above mentioned systems;
  4. pass and maintain current industry certification in the area(s) specific to their program option (e.g., Comp TIA);
  5. critically apply software skills to solve business problems in a variety of situations;
  6. demonstrate proficiency with applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; and
  7. research technology problems in order to provide basic technology support and learn new technology tools.
