Program Requirements:

DCOM 217 - Cisco I - Network Fundamentals 4 Credit(s). (corequisite: DCOM 101 or Program Coordinator consent)
DCOM 218 - Cisco II - Routing Protocols and Concepts 4 Credit(s).
DCOM 219 - Cisco III - LAN Switching and Wireless 4 Credit(s).
DCOM 220 - Cisco IV - Accessing the WAN 4 Credit(s).

Total Credits Required for Certificate: 16*

*Credit students who are new to college (no successfully completed college coursework at other institutions) are required to take ACDV 101 in the first semester at CCBC. This is a 1-credit class, and it does not count towards the number of credits required for a degree or certificate. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) for this requirement to be waived.

Program Description

This certificate program prepares students to work with Cisco routers, switches, and other networking equipment. During this program students will prepare for and take the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification exams.

Program Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:

take the Cisco CCNA certification test;
install configure and maintain network switches, routers;
install and maintain network infrastructure for LAN and WAN networks; and
administer networks and network operating systems.
