This is a suggested full-time schedule for a student who has completed any developmental course work and has no transfer credits. Refer to the College catalog for specific requirements in selecting General Education courses .

Choose courses in each category from the list of approved General Education Courses . One course must be a Diversity course.

  • Biological and Physical Science 3-4 Credits.
  • Social and Behavioral Sciences 3 Credits.

Program Requirements and Electives - 42-43 Credits


Total Number of Credits Required for Degree: 60*


*Credit students who are new to college (no successfully completed college coursework at other institutions) are required to take ACDV 101  in the first semester at CCBC. This is a 1-credit class, and it does not count towards the number of credits required for a degree or certificate. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) for this requirement to be waived.

 

Program Description


The Computer-Aided Design for Architecture and Engineering degree program is designed to prepare the student for an entry-level position in the mechanical, architectural, civil, structural, or other design-related industry. Students graduating with this degree may find employment under the guidance of engineers as CAD operators, engineering technicians, CAD drafters, and design assistants creating technical drawings for engineering applications.

Program Outcomes


Upon successful completion of this degree, students will be able to:

  1. recognize and apply standard drafting principles in a CAD environment;
  2. develop working knowledge and skills to effectively and efficiently create drawings using several software programs;
  3. identify and explain the function and purpose of CAD system components;
  4. apply basic dimensioning procedures; and
  5. plot CAD drawings at designated scales.
