Automotive Master Technician Certificate

This is a suggested schedule for a student who has completed any developmental course work and has no transfer credits.



  

Program Requirements and Electives - 50 Credits


Total Number of Credits Required for Certificate: 50*


*Credit students who are new to college (no successfully completed college coursework at other institutions) are required to take ACDV 101  in the first semester at CCBC. This is a 1-credit class, and it does not count towards the number of credits required for a degree or certificate. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) for this requirement to be waived.

 

Program Description


This certificate requires mastering the diagnosis, repair and service of all automotive systems. It is designed to prepare individuals to seek employment in the automotive repair industry or to upgrade their automotive skills. Students successfully completing this curriculum will be prepared for employment as automotive lead technicians, automotive team leaders, automotive service advisers, diagnosticians or secure other upper-level automotive positions.

Program Outcomes


Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:

  1. successfully complete ASE testing for Master Technician Certification;
  2. diagnose and repair engines and related systems;
  3. diagnose and repair transmissions and related systems;
  4. diagnose and repair brakes and related systems;
  5. diagnose and repair steering and suspension systems and their related systems;
  6. diagnose and repair HVAC systems and related systems; and
  7. diagnose and repair electrical and electronics and related systems.
