Total Number of Credits Required for Degree 63-64**

**A new college orientation requirement, completion of the one-credit ACDV 101  course, Transitioning to College, went into effect spring 2010. If you are a credit student who is new to college (meaning you have not successfully completed college coursework at another institution(s)), you are required to take ACDV 101  during your first semester at CCBC, thereby increasing the number of credits required for the degree to 64-65 credits. Students are required to provide an official transcript(s) to document successful completion of college coursework at another institution(s) in order for this requirement to be waived.

The Interactive Media option prepares students to design and develop computer-based media for communications purposes. Through hands-on projects, students gain a solid foundation of knowledge in the use of interaction, multimedia scripting, hardware and software for media development, and a working knowledge of teamwork and process for project authoring. This program prepares students for entry-level positions in a variety of web and media production companies. Students who select this curriculum and plan to transfer to a four-year college, university, or art school should consult with the program coordinator.

Program Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this degree option, students will be able to:

  1. use current industry-standard authoring applications to create cross-platform interactive media products incorporating text, graphics, animation, video, scripted interaction, and sound;
  2. apply team concepts to the development of interactive media;
  3. design and use storyboards for the layout and implementation of interactive media projects;
  4. apply human computer interface skills to enhance user interaction;
