General Studies offers maximum flexibility for students who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree upon graduation from CCBC or for whom a general studies degree best meets their academic goals. This program is especially appealing to students who wish to design their own course of study or who have accumulated a significant number of credits from other programs or colleges. Students acquire well-rounded skills to pursue a variety of academic disciplines and careers. They also expand their understanding of the ability to function within the diversity of our contemporary world.

General Education Electives:

  • Social and Behavioral Sciences (in 2 different disciplines) 6 Credits.
  • Mathematics 3-4 Credits.
  • Biological and Physical Sciences (one must include a lab) 7-8 Credits.
  • Wellness and Health OR Information Technology 3 Credits.

Total Number of Credits Required for Certificate: 31-33*

*A new college orientation requirement, completion of the one-credit ACDV 101  course, Transitioning to College, went into effect spring 2010.
