You’ll also learn about design, security configuration, troubleshooting and more. Designed for students pursuing a career in networking.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the students should be able to:
1. explain the purpose of networking;
2. identify the major hardware and software components of a network;
3. differentiate between peer-to-peer networks and client-server networks;
4. design a cabling topology to interconnect networking devices;
5. implement client and server operating systems;
6. implement and configure basic protocols and services including TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS;
7. demonstrate an understanding of the planning and implementation of system security
including permissions, firewalls, and fault tolerance;
8. perform network monitoring and optimization;
9. combine different types of networks; and
10. evaluate common networking problems.
