This course is designed as an introduction to the basic concepts of community relationships building for family child care providers. Topics to be covered include relationships with children and families, cultural awareness and partnerships with community organizations.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:

list reasons for developing positive partnerships with families;
identify local community organizations that support early childhood programs;
develop strategies to build positive professional relationships with children, families; and community organizations; and
describe the influence of culture on the family child care program.
