PCP 772 - BEGINNING PROGRAMMING


1.5 Continuing Education Units (CEU). This course is not for Credit(s).

This course is designed to enable business professionals to learn the basics of computer programming. Students will get a solid introduction to the basics of computer programming and learn to write simple programs. Topics to be covered include saving data, performing operations, making lists, controlling blocks, creating functions, sorting algorithms, importing libraries, managing text, programming objects, building interfaces, and developing apps.

 

Course Objectives:

1. create a programming environment on a computer,

2. write code to create computer programs,

3. demonstrate the ability to store information in data structures,

4. control programming flow using control structures,

5. create re-usable blocks of program code, and

6. demonstrate the ability to code powerful algorithms and classes for Object Oriented Programming.
