AUTO 231 - Repairing Automotive Engines


5 Credit(s).

Discusses diagnosis and repair of automotive engines; includes engine evaluation, removal, disassembly, cylinder head reconditioning, crankshaft and bearing reconditioning, cylinder and piston reconditioning, engine reassembly, engine installation, and associated repairs. Students are encouraged to bring an engine in to overhaul for a class project. NOTE: Course offered once a year (fall or spring).

Prerequisite(s): AUTO 156  or AUTO 151 , AUTO 131  and AUTO 141
