NURN 112 - Adult Health Care II


5 Credits.

Covers the principles, concepts, and skills essential for providing care for clients with acute and chronic alterations in reproductive, blood and lymph, immune, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and urinary systems. The student is further introduced to conditions where clients require more complex nursing care such as oncology, shock, and injuries resulting from severe trauma and multi-system problems. Opportunities to apply theoretical concepts and skills continue as the student provides care, with faculty guidance, in acute and long-term care settings. The Neuman System Model is the framework for the study of client care. 3 credits of theory (45 clock hours); 2 credits of clinical (90 clock hours) Courses offered once a year (fall or spring).

Prerequisite(s): NURN 103 , NURN 110 , NURN 111 , NURN 113 , ENGL 101 , PSYC 101  or SOCL 101 , BIOL 110 , and BIOL 220  with a “C” or better.
