ESOL 096 - Pronunciation/Spoken Conversational ESOL

0 Credits. 3 or 6 Billable Hours

Develops communication skills ESOL students need to succeed in an academic and/or professional setting. The course presents learning strategies, which develop fluency in oral communication and accuracy in listening comprehension. A variety of interactive activities involve learners in practicing skills that can be applied in real-life situations. A highly structured approach to pronunciation focuses on the sounds, stress, rhythm, and intonation of English. Course offered fall, spring, and may be offered during additional sessions.

Prerequisite(s): Eligibility for ESOL 032  or above or
